Youth Coaching
Coaching is critical to both the development and enjoyment for our young soccer players. Being a soccer coach does NOT require soccer experience. Please consider becoming a coach.
Coaches are required to complete:
- Respect in Sport course (free online course)
- This course must be completed prior to registering as a coach. This is a requirement from RAMP/MSA starting this year.
- Child Abuse Check - Submit the form to your convenor.
- DO NOT submit the form to the Child Abuse Registry Unit yourself. The fee for doing so will not be reimbursed. The club has their own process for submitting the applications free of charge.
- To be completed every 3 years
- Criminal Record Check
- NCCP Number can be obtained online (Hockey coaches should have a number already): The Locker
- Coaches Training course through MSA
- NCCP Number
- Required on the coaches registration form
- Everyone can obtain a NCCP number, it tracks coaches training.
- NCCP number is not specific to soccer, you may already have a number from other coaching such as hockey.
- NCCP number can be created and/or obtained from: "The Locker".
All fees associated with these requirements are fully reimbursed. Existing active checks are sufficient.
Game Day:
- Gamesheet - please print one out and bring it to all games. Referees should have one but in case they don't bring one or in case a referee doesn't show up to a game please have one on hand.
**KEEP IN MIND ALL THAT ALL OF OUR TEAMS ARE LEAD BY PARENT VOLUNTEER COACHES. IN ORDER TO HOST THE TEAMS IN SOUTH WINNIPEG AND KEEP OUR PLAYERS FROM BEING TRANSFERRED OUT - COACHES MUST STEP UP AND OFFER TO LEAD A TEAM.**
Please contact the convener if you have questions or are interested in becoming a coach. SWCCsoccer@gmail.com
